The ‘Understanding ADHD and low self-esteem’ webinar begins by providing an insight into how self-esteem can be impacted by the experiences of having ADHD, whether formally diagnosed or self-identified. Additionally, it introduces Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques adapted to help improve self-esteem in people with ADHD. The webinar includes information about the support offered by the NHS Hertfordshire and Mid Essex Talking Therapies for common mental health problems, such as stress, low mood, and worry, within the context of ADHD.
Key topics covered:
- ADHD and low self-esteem: An introduction to self-esteem and how it can be impacted by the different experiences of having ADHD.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): An introduction to the CBT approach to understand how low self-esteem can be maintained in people with ADHD.
- CBT-based self-help techniques: An introduction to CBT techniques to help improve self-esteem and acknowledge the natural strengths of people with ADHD.
The NHS Hertfordshire and Mid Essex Talking Therapies services are unable to offer treatment for ADHD specifically, however we routinely adapt what we offer for neurodiverse people.
