Talk for Your Health: Emotional Support for Living with Type 2 Diabetes

We’re delighted to announce that our second 'Talk for Your Health: Emotional Support for Long Term Conditions (LTC)' campaign will be returning from Monday 6th October – Friday 28th November. For 2025, the campaign will focus on Type 2 Diabetes.

This years campaign encourages individuals struggling with stress, low mood, or anxiety related to their Type 2 Diabetes to seek help through NHS Talking Therapies services.

People living with a long term physical health condition such as Type 2 Diabetes, may face various challenges across many areas of their life. Whether someone has just received a diagnosis or has been living with the condition for years, it's normal to feel overwhelmed. In fact, up to 40% of people living with diabetes report struggling with their mental health following their diagnosis.

We understand the unique emotional challenges that can accompany life with Type 2 Diabetes. That’s why we offer access to specially trained therapists who are experienced in supporting individuals dealing with the complex relationship between physical and mental health.

Receiving the right emotional support can be a vital part of managing diabetes effectively. Hertfordshire and Mid Essex Talking Therapies can help you manage your condition, make sense of how you are feeling, reduce stress, and build a life that works for you.

Tania Marques, Long Term Conditions Deputy Clinical Lead for the service, said: “We invite everyone to join us in this important initiative. By fostering open conversations about emotional wellbeing and LTCs, we can create a supportive community where individuals feel empowered to seek the help they need”.
