Menopause and Emotional Wellbeing

The Menopause and Emotional Wellbeing webinar introduces the physical and emotional difficulties that women may experience when going through perimenopause and menopause.

For many women, perimenopause and menopause can lead to a range of physical symptoms, which are unpredictable and may last for an uncertain amount of time. Hormonal changes, the physical symptoms and their unpredictability may contribute to emotional distress during perimenopause and menopause. It is therefore important to learn ways to look after your emotional wellbeing whilst going through this stage of life. Cognitive behavioural techniques and breathing exercises can help you navigate the emotional difficulties and physical symptoms you might experience.

The webinar will present different tools that women can use to look after their emotional wellbeing whilst going through this stage of life.

Key topics covered:

  • Perimenopause and Menopause: A discussion of the cause, physical symptoms and emotional difficulties associated with perimenopause and menopause.
  • A Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) view of Perimenopause and Menopause: An explanation of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the effect that the perception of physical symptoms can have on emotional wellbeing.
  • CBT techniques: CBT-based techniques to improve emotional wellbeing by challenging negative thoughts, re-engaging in activities and using breathing exercises to manage emotional difficulties and physical symptoms.
